The
all-time favorite Ruralite cookbook is again available for purchase! It
is Ruralite's original reader recipe collection — a 133-page cookbook
that includes an index by category. The cookbook was compiled from readers'
recipes that appeared in the magazine in the early 1960s to the late 1970s,
and was edited by Hazel Hake Alderman, whose husband, Hank, founded Ruralite
Services in 1954.
The last printing was in 1980. However, the requests for this cookbook
have not diminished. "Favorite Recipes from Ruralite Readers" includes
categories such as breads, dairy products, dumplings and noodles, relishes,
pies and more.
Upholding a tradition that began in the early 1960s by Hazel Hake Alderman, Ruralite continues to publish cookbooks consisting of recipes readers submit for regularly held contests.

Nine
cook booklets from the 1995 through 2005 reader recipe contests have been
combined into one special collection. Featuring casseroles, seafood, poultry,
chili, soups, salads, holiday favorites, desserts and bread recipes. Each
